Job Description


Title:  Production Manager

Reports to:  General Manager


Job Summary

he Production Manager manages the  production of swimming pool safety covers and provides support in related areas.


Summary of Essential Job Functions


 The essential job functions include:


  • Managing the daily operations of the safety cover factory
  • Managing the production schedule to ensure factory employees are fully engaged and the factory is operating at optimal efficiency
  • Ensure attainment of manufacturing quality standards
  • Overseeing the preparation of design files for automatic cutting machine
  • Monitoring inventory levels and communicating purchasing needs to General Manager and head office
  • Supervising factory workers
  • Resolving operational issues involving staff or equipment
  • Providing reports to senior management on manufacturing output and efficiency levels
  • Providing price quotes to customers for standard and custom made safety covers
  • Handling customer service calls regarding safety covers and the entire safety line, including safety fences and safety nets
  • Support shipping operations to ensure prompt and cost effective delivery to safety cover customers

Minimum Requirements


  • At least five years of experience in cut and sew manufacturing, with significant managerial experience
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn drafting computer programs and programs used for cutting machines
  • Strong technical ability, including knowledge of the operations of the factory machines and equipment
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience developing meaningful reports for senior management
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel and Word and comfortable with using computer database programs
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn QuickBooks accounting software
  • Knowledge of swimming pool operations desirable
